WHAT: Run a marathon
WHERE: Orlando, Fla.

WHY: To help find a cure for blood-related cancers

For a long time all I ever ran for was the bus but many of you know that I've been training for a marathon.
I will run the Walt Disney Marathon on Jan. 9 as a participant in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s TEAM IN TRAINING (www.teamintraining.org/nyc).
I am fundraising on behalf of my mother, Johanna, and many people I have never met but all of whom have been affected by blood cancers. They are my motivation and reminder that the ultimate finish line we are striving to cross is a cure for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease, myeloma and other blood-related cancers.

My goal, besides completing the 26.2-miles, is to raise $2,600 by Dec. 15. You can participate with me in this marathon without even breaking a sweat! Your contribution will mean so much in fighting the leading disease afflicting children under 15.

If you would like me to pay tribute to someone in your life who has been afflicted with any form of cancer, please list let me know and I will be honored to add that person’s name to the honoree bracelet I will wear during the run. Thank you and best wishes for healthy and happy holidays!
